Ohio AG Sues DuPont for Illegal Release of Toxic Substances

Ohio AG Mike DeWine has sued the DuPont Corporation for the illegal dumping of toxic chemicals into the Ohio River and is seeking both restitution and damages. While the Complaint speaks for itself, it is also a clear example of a state attorney general taking a direct environmental action without the involvement of the U.S. Dept of Justice or the federal EPA. Is this a harbinger of things to come as the federal government retreats from enforcing their own laws?
